Shapes of Rubber Bellow manufactured :

Rectangular : Rectangular Rubber Bellow is manufactured as flexible sealing component, designed in a rectangular (or square) cross-section, used to protect mechanical parts and absorb movement. Unlike round bellows, these are specifically shaped to fit rectangular assemblies.

Square : Square Rubber Bellow is a flexible protective cover with a square cross-section (all four sides equal). It is made of rubber or elastomeric material and is designed to protect machine parts while allowing controlled movement.

Circular : A circular Rubber Bellow is a round, flexible protective cover made of rubber or elastomer, designed to protect moving machine parts and absorb motion while keeping out dust, dirt, moisture and chemicals.

Rubber types used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing :

Neoprene Rubber :- This type of Rubber (also called polychloroprene) is used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing because it offers a strong balance of flexibility, chemical resistance, and environmental durability. It’s especially suited for applications where moderate oil resistance, weather protection, and mechanical strength are important.

EPDM Rubber :- Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is widely used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing due to its excellent resistance to environmental exposure, flexibility and cost-effectiveness – especially in outdoor, water, and high-temperature applications.

Natural Rubber :- This type of Rubber is used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing primarily for its excellent elasticity, tear strength, and vibration-damping properties – making it ideal for dynamic applications where high flexibility and mechanical performance are critical.

Silicon Rubber :- This type of Rubber is used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing primarily because of its excellent high-temperature resistance, flexibility, and biocompatibility. It’s especially suitable for applications requiring cleanliness, thermal stability, and weather resistance.

Hypalon Rubber :- This type of Rubber (technically known as CSM – Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene) is used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing because of its outstanding resistance to weathering, chemicals, heat, and ozone – making it ideal for demanding environments.

Nitrile Rubber :- This type of Rubber is also known as Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing primarily because of its excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and greases, along with good mechanical properties. It’s widely used in automotive, industrial, and hydraulic systems where contact with petroleum-based substances is common.

Buna-N Rubber :- This types is also known as Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing because of its excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and other petroleum-based fluids, combined with good mechanical strength and durability.

Flange materials used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing :

Mild Steel :- MS Flange is often used as the end connection in Rubber Bellow manufacturing. The flange provides a rigid mounting interface so the flexible rubber body of the bellow can be bolted into pipelines, ducts or equipment.

Stainless Steel :- SS Flange is also commonly used in Rubber Bellow manufacturing, similar to a mild steel Flange but it offers better corrosion resistance, durability, and hygiene.

ASTM A105 :- This type of Flange is a forged carbon steel flange widely used in piping systems, and it is also used as the end connection in Rubber Bellows.

SA516 Gr.70 :- This type flange means the flange is manufactured from ASTM A516 Grade 70 material, which is a carbon steel plate material for pressure vessels and boilers. When such a flange is used in a Rubber Bellow, it is chosen for high-pressure, high-temperature, and pressure vessel-related applications.

Rubber Bellow manufacturing process :

Determining Rubber type :- Identify the specific rubber compound needed based on temperature and pressure requirements. Select materials like EPDM, Nitrile, Neoprene or Silicone, each suited for different temperature resistance levels, chemical compatibility and flexibility.

Determining ARC thickness :- Calculate the required thickness of the ARC layer based on anticipated stress factors like temperature and pressure. Ensure sufficient reinforcement for durability while maintaining the flexibility needed for the Bellow’s performance.

Inside diameter :- Determine the Bellow’s internal diameter based on the pipeline’s diameter or component it will connect with. Accurate measurement is essential for proper fit, ensuring an airtight and watertight seal in high-pressure environments.

Flange specifications :- Define flange dimensions, materials and hole placement based on where the Bellow will be installed. Select flange material (Stainless Steel / Mild Steel / Rubber) that meets the environmental and operational demands. Ensure flange holes are drilled to match the bolt pattern of the pipeline or fitting to ensure secure attachment.

Rubber molding and ARC preparation :- Mold the rubber to the determined specifications, including the desired shape, wall thickness, and ARC coverage. Employ curing processes to ensure the rubber reaches its optimal elasticity, durability, and heat resistance.

Flange fabrication :- Manufacture or procure flanges based on pre-determined specifications. Securely attach the flanges to the molded Rubber Bellow, often using bonding agents or vulcanization techniques, to create a solid, reliable connection between rubber and flange.
